(A hungry dog hides a bone underground)

1.

I’m waiting in front of the mirror. Woof Woof. opening my mouth wide, looking at my teeth. running my fingers on my teeth. bringing my tongue out. ha ha ha Woof Woof. I touch the leash that is on my neck. Swinging my head left and right. ha ha ha. wiggling my butt a few times. My tale is swinging. I’m going to the front door. I put my hands on the ground. Wating for my owner. My owner walks towards me. Woof Woof. He whistles to me and pets my head. Woof Woof.

He walks towards me wearing black clothes from head to toe. His clothes are brand new. Or maybe he had just ironed them. His clothes are really expensive. I don’t know. They may be expensive. The watch on his hand is gold. The ring too. His shoes don’t have a speck of dust on them.

He pulls the leash on my neck and drags me behind himself. He opens the door of the car. I sit in the back seats. Woof Woof. We start moving. lighting a cigarette. the smoke of the cigar goes through my nose.

Increasing the volume of the music in the car. the song is English I don’t understand it. he swings his head with the music.

stopping the car in front of a modern club. Getting down he opens the door for me. I jump out. Woof Woof. I grab my leash and give it to him. He drags me behind himself.

We walk inside the club. The music is loud. He greets his friends. His female friends walk towards him and they kiss each other.

-Oh so cute.

-I have another one I left at home.

-I would like to have one like this too.

Running her fingers on my head, a warm current running through my body. Woof Woof. I don’t want her to move her hand away.

They walk to a table and I sit in front of the table.

He whistles.

Woof Woof.

-Idiot, I don’t mean you, waiter waiter.

-Yes

-Bring us something.

After a bit, the waiter comes back with some drinks and snacks. he steps on my tale. it doesn’t hurt. I warn him. Woof Woof.

-Oh sorry.

I clean my tale with my hand and bring it in front of me. I put it down. They drink and have fun. The girls throw the leftover cake in front of me. I eat it. Cleaning my lips using my tongue. Woof Woof.

His friend’s beckoned him. They walk to the poker table.

-Let’s play a game.

-Twenty-one?.

-Yes.

They start playing. He drinks and eats while also playing the game. One of his friends picks up a piece of roasted meat and whistles.

Woof Woof.

I approach him on my knees, bringing my hands up as high as my chest level. He brings the roasted meat near my nose. hah hah hah Woof Woof. Opening my mouth so that he puts it in my mouth. He throws it in front of his other friend. He takes it and whistles. I approach him. Woof Woof. He brings the meat near my nose then throws it toward one of the girls.

Taking the meat she pities me. She throws the roasted piece of meat into the garbage can.

-Stop let him be, finish your game.

The laughter of the boys and girls mixes together. I scratch my ear with my hand. Woof Woof.

The game has been going for a while and hundreds of dollars are on the table. I check the two cards in my owner’s hands. He checks the cards. ( Thee of spades, queen of hearts).

-Give me another card.

His hands shaking, brings it up. ( King of diamonds)

Punching the table in front of him.

-I lost. twenty-three

He stands up and leaves the table.

-That’s enough for tonight.

Standing up he kicks my butt.

-Let’s go

He is drunk and can hardly walk. I take up the leash and follow him. I open the car door and get in. He punches the volume turning it off.

Going back home. The music is on. He walks into his room. I also go into my room. Taking my clothes off. Woof Woof.

I check my phone there are some unanswered calls. I call my mom.

-Hello.

-Yes, mom.

-How are you, my son?

-I’m fine mom.

-I called you many times, you didn’t answer?

-I was working mom.

-Work this late at night?

-That’s how my job is.

-Ok, honey take care of yourself.

-Ok, mom.

-Goodbye

Locking my phone, tears falling down. Woof Woof.

2.

Every morning the alarm of my phone wakes me up. I wash my hands and teeth. Using the trimmer I shave my head. Shave my beard. Make a fast breakfast. I eat it fast too. checking the date. Putting a line on today. Looking at my contract and using my fingers to count how many days are left. I have a small box, I’ve hidden it. I drag it out. all my savings are in there.

I put the small box back in its place.

Checking the time, to see how much more until eight straight. If I still have time I will use the internet.

I live in a big house. I don’t have a house of my own. It belongs to the owner. Here they gave me a room on the ground floor. They gave a room to my co-worker too. We see each other from time to time. But the rules here state that we can’t stay together for long. Afraid That we might fight.

Many workers work here. They don’t approach us. We prepare our own food and don’t go outside of our room. Until the lights of our room are turned on. Then we prepare ourselves and go to the door.

Wearing my clothes. They are really pretty. White from head to toe, there are some black spots on them. My co-worker’s clothes are black with white spots. That’s how we are differentiated. Our owner doesn’t like our face. He doesn’t want to see us.

When the red light is on. I stand in front of the mirror. Woof Woof. I hang my mouth open, Looking at my teeth. Running my fingers on top of my teeth. Taking out my tongue. Ha ha ha Woof Woof. Touching the leash on my neck. Swinging my head from side to side. hah hah hah. Wiggling my butt a few times. Swinging my tale. I walk to the door.

3.

My owner has some guests. He wants to present a good show for them. He turned the red light of my room on. I prepare my self with haste and walk to the door. Woof Woof.

He whistles and I walk in front of him. Woof Woof. I circle around him. Playing with his legs in front of him. Taking my leash he drags me to the middle of the hall. My co-worker is also there sitting on his knees.

Woof Woof. I answer him. Woof Woof.

My owner takes the leash off of my neck.

-kss kss kss kss ( This is a command for dogs to attack or chase. tr)

I directly attack my co-worker. He claws my face. But it doesn’t injure me. I jump on his chest, throwing him on the ground on his back. He tries to get up and jump on me. biting my ear. Blood flows down my neck. I’m on the ground under him, he is clawing me. The pain of my ear is tiring me. I don’t have enough strength to defend myself. He continues his attack on top of me. Our owner grabs his neck and whistles at him. Woof Woof.

He puts the leash back on our necks. Taking my co-worker to his side and leaving me in the middle of the ring. He throws a piece of roasted meat in front of him. Woof Woof. He starts eating. And I’m in the middle of the ring, holding my ear while tears are coming down.

Five months ago jobless, in an old apartment. Looking for a job. At night I was staying in the apartment, reading newspapers in hopes of finding a job. At day times, in the bazaars and companies looking for work.

In the evenings going back with an empty stomach, looking in the trashcans in front of the restaurants. So that I can find something to fill my stomach. Dry bread. Rice and mixtures of food. Those Chicken legs that only have bits and pieces left on them, or anything else, that can fill my stomach.

Its been a few years since I’ve left home, to find a job and live.

The jobs here mostly need a High degree or experience. I have neither.

I couldn’t finish the study. Since I finished classes every two years. Until I didn’t pass and was expelled. since then I’m trying to find a job. Until finally, in one of the newspapers, I found a job opportunity.

When the day broke, I went to the company that advertised the job opportunity.

Just when I went past the door I felt electricity run down my spine, I was terrified. Woof Woof.

I saw dozens of huge cages, filled with all kinds of dogs.

Now I was used to it. Whenever my contract was finished. I would go directly to the company. until when they give me a new contract.

I’m given an empty cage where I wait. woof woof.
